Arboreal Reaction To Stress

gray,
tumorous,
botryoidal,
gnarled,
knurled,
burled,
rough bark for protection -
like me.

  1. A great pairing of visual and verbal. 'Botryoidal'. I'm taking that word away with me!

  2. I gotta say, I don't picture you in my mind's eye as botryoidal (I had to look up the definition).

    But, hey...that's just me.

  3. I have always loved the word 'botryoidal' and have used it to describe certain kinds of rocks and the weird, lumpy lipomas I have. So, thank you, Jonas for not picturing me this way, and while they're not noticeable, they're there.

  4. Thank you for the nice comments on my blog. Hope things are OK with your mother. It is difficult with an older parent (mine was 98 when she died) and extraordinarily difficult on the children. It was tough but it brought all six siblings closer.
