"When my daughter was about seven years old, she asked me one day what I did at work. I told her I worked at the college - that my job was to teach people how to draw. She stared back at me, incredulous, and said, 'you mean they forget?'" - Howard Ikemoto
granddaughter, Sandra's painting, age 4
You know there really is something quite relaxing about this painting. I've just sat and looked at the thing for a good ten minutes. I really don't want to spoil the illusion by asking what it's supposed to be.
ReplyDeleteMmmmm here's what came instantly to mind: an ice cream sundae of lime, pineapple, and boysenberry sherbets drizzled with raspberry sauce. Maybe there's a giant waffle cone under there too....
ReplyDeleteGreat job Sandra!
Fascinating painting. The little girl's comment deserves a poem.
ReplyDeleteThe painting reminds me of earth and global warming. Very cool and interesting.
ReplyDeleteMaybe painting is like riding a bike. You don't forget.
I'm with you, Christella. Global warming - the tree coming out of the orb, the purple cloud like a menacing panther. Sandra doesn't remember what she was trying to capture. I think it was the pure joy of colors.
