i'm seriously impressed! as i'm a serious beginner artist, and finding out how difficult it is to see something and translate it onto the page...sigh. practice, practice, practice.
Glad you like my sketches. I'm not trained, but I'll never forget what my 6th grade teacher said to me when she saw me struggling to get a face right. She said, You're being too literal. You're not really drawing a nose or an eye; you're drawing shadows and shapes." Then she turned the photograph of the girl I was trying to capture upside-down and told me to just draw the shapes and intensity of shading I saw without thinking it was a nose or a mouth or part of someone’s face.
