Collaberative Short Poem

One Moose Trumps Seven Deer

Backlit on the apron of the forest,
the scrim of daylight shadows fading,
the mushrooms snore, the ferns curl,
all but the meadow sleeps.

(Title by Jan. 1st 2 lines, Kass. Last 2 lines Sherry. Be careful. What you say in comments, may turn up in a poem)

  2. Yes, I like the collaboration. A moose at dawn or dusk definitely gets the heart thumping.

  3. DAVE - Thanks. I'm amazed you got your comment through. I've been struggling with blogger and how randomly it manages to space lines. This has been in and out of draft 3 times. Thanks for hanging in there.

  9. Very creative! Your readers are kindred poetic spirits that lend to just this sort of thing... and the effect is masterful...

  10. I know puns aren't endeering, so I'll avoid making any mention of chocolate moose...
For a story that doesn't begin with once apron a time this poem evokes quite a tail (seven white tails?).

Lovely little collaborative piece, this. : j

    This was a lovely one.
    not one for the ages
    not too short
    not too long
    But written well
    from a couple
    of sages.

or perhaps I'm being a little (WV)
    abisiv in my praises.

  13. @ Tag ~ Ha! You are wonderful, Sir. Double-dog dare ya to make something (poetic) out of nothing. I sense your poetry moving forward in leaps and bounds. You're really onto something for which you have a knack.
