All Things Reveal All Other Things

My poem, Insomnia is featured on Claire Beynon's blog, '...All things reveal infinitude...' Read it HERE. She has a lovely blog where she generously features poets every Tuesday. The picture to the left from Claire's blog is a detail from Peter Nicholls' steel sculpture - 2009.  Be sure to check out Claire's art blog: http://www.clairebeynon.co.nz

Many thanks to Claire for featuring this little-known poet.

  1. Thanks for directing me to your poem, Kass.
Congratulations on being chosen for the featured poem.
I think it's powerful enough to keep me up nights!
I so admire folks that can craft words like you do (and it doesn't take up as much room as all this crafty business too)
Much Love and Happy New Year
    xoxo Kim

  2. Placing the right words to portray a thought or emotion can be easy or hard,to relay that thought perfectly.I write and can rattle off a few, and then reread them to see I didn't do what I had intended. I just got copy of Mary Oliver's "Thirst" for some New Years reading.

  3. I remember that poem, loved it the first time, love it now. You're rocking at the moment, aren't you?

  4. Smarmy solicitations? Slavish sluices? Wow, Kass! When I read the title, I was expecting the usual tossing and turning of sleeplessness. Instead, the poem's main character ("I") is more like a boat tossed in an emotional storm. Batten down the hatches!

  5. Wonderful, Kass. And well deserved. Fancy featuring on Claire Benyon's blog. That's a huge achievement, and I do not say that lightly.

It's one I missed first time round on Marylinn's post, but I'm so glad to read it here now.

  8. That's a wonderful representation of the violation of insomnia, Kass. I've written two poems directly about insomnia but never captured a sense of its being a kind of molestation. So good.

  9. Kass -- tried to navigate to your poem on Boynon's blog -- no luck -- couldn't seem to find my way through the maze. I'm sure it was a great poem -- barbara

  11. Kudos to Kass!! (and thanks for the introduction to Beynon's site, beautiful.) Having 'entertained' that condition frequently during the past 2 years, I can truly appreciate the desperation you so completely capture.
I read your poem "Unsent Note..." to my poetry group last week (after getting your permission), and they were completely awed by the poem and the potency with which you write. They want copies. Congratulations! and Happy New Year, woman!
